Upon my quest on growing an audience, I visited different blogs, websites, and anything that would spark an idea or some missing piece of information. I found many things, among them a bloggers’ forum. I was intrigued, as I had originally taken a different approach. I came across a blog that caught my eye because I had previously read somewhere that in this realm, it’s worth to see what others are creating.

What initially caught my eye was the aesthetics of the website. As someone familiar with design in relation to software, I was impressed. The screen is dark, which I imagine is intended for readability and elegance. I found the blog to be coherent in font styling, with excellent use of “white space” and a minimal yet excellent use of color for pop. Additionally, the mobile design was wonderfully implemented. This design has allowed me to navigate the blog site with little to no friction, despite my own thoughts and distractions.

Initially this writer’s post had sparked a previous thought I had earlier when developing my own site. The term used was “web rings” upon further research I understood it as a way to generate audience via peers and cross posting. I reached out and sure enough we chatted and I found we had many similarities ranging from blogging down to the “Elden Ring” video game. As I explored his content, I found it very entertaining and insightful, granted I don’t agree 100% with all of the writers opinions but I do appreciate the content and insight into somebody else’s experiences.

I explored the different mechanics of the website. Naturally, I contrasted them against my own website’s mechanics and was quite pleased with the websites properties. For example, the writer includes categories, and by pressing on the categories they produce blogs with that category. Additionally, there is a section of the 5 latest posts, which I imagine is quite handy for returning users. Another point of interest is that when accessing a different part of the site, one is greeted by an elegant loading screen. The blog details page includes links to previous and next blogs.

In conclusion, I read through this blogger's content and reflected on what I learned. I will apply the various insights wherever appropriate. In my opinion, that is what growing as an individual entails.
