How I’m transitioning from popular user-generated content site that rhymes with said it to Lemmy.

For this blog topic I will be talking about the transition that I've seen in myself as I transition from a user generated content site to another user generated content site called Lemmy.
I think this story starts when I noticed in myself doom-scrolling quite consistently. But there was still part of me, or something, that I still needed from a website that I could just fart-around, read insights from other people or find new topics or new ideas.
But I started noticing that it I was starting to feel negative. When topics like doom scrolling were put on my radar I researched what it meant and stuff started making sense. I started looking for alternatives and sure enough I found one and it is called Lemmy.
The concept of the website seems to be similar, although, also different; which the differences between the two websites could probably be a topic for a different blog. But some key aspects that I did notice was that I wasn't feeling as doom and gloom after coming from the other website.
Since the Lemmy alternative has so many people in it; it has new and more up to date information which makes it difficult to fully transition out.
In contrast, Lemmy has fewer users and I’ve found the ones it did have were higher quality, in my opinion, maybe a bit more tech oriented or something which I guess kind of resonated with me, so I started a slow transition. As soon as I felt the doom and gloom, I would transition over to the other website and it would either minimize or stop those dooming thoughts and the blog posts or ideas were also quite fresh/re-freshing.
Rather than the posts having a similar flavor or a similar flavor in moderating.
The transition has been kind of slow but if I could describe it as a percentage, that percentage keeps increasing from one to the other, which I find quite nice.
Ideally, it would be a nice for a full transition but there's still some topics or aspects that are
more robust or richer, in my opinion, due to the higher number of users that it makes it a little difficult to fully transition out.
Nonetheless, this transition has been nice and as more people transition and as more blogs like these come out, hopefully, Lemmy can have all the good aspects that I like without any of the other aspects which I don't like. Which seems a little bit like wishful thinking but I kind of like the idea.
So, if you feel in a similar spot to me I would suggest you to check it out, I won’t argue it’s gonna be the greatest thing ever but at a minimum it is an alternative option.
